Two-compartment mountaineering backpack with a myriad of uses

Detailed information

Product detailed description

Up to the icy realms

For all those who don’t intend to hibernate but want to enjoy the winter, Attack is the perfect choice for ski mountaineers and ice climbers. The reinforced loops make it easy to attach skis or a snowboard, a rope can be attached under the lid and the innovative straps can also be used to attach sporting ice axes.

You’ll also appreciate the partition inside the pack, dividing it into two separate compartments. The partition is controlled by a drawstring with a cord lock, so you can choose whether you need one or two compartments. The lower compartment can be conveniently accessed through a sufficiently large opening at the bottom of the pack with two YKK sliders, which is further secured with a buckle.

There is a standard opening under the lid of the pack that leads to the upper compartment, but another, easy-to-use access point leads through the vertical zipper opening on the right. It is wide enough to pull out a thermos of tea or a jacket.

Detailed description

As usual, we will start from the bottom, although there isn’t a raincover here as in the smaller versions, but don’t despair, there will be one, just a bit higher up. The first two things to catch your eye will definitely be the two loops with buckles, which are designed to attach ice axes or trekking poles. An ice axe can be pulled through the loop and secured with the buckle, the handle is then fastened with the upper Velcro straps. At the same level, there are two loops for skis on the sides. A little bit higher, notice the entrance to the lower compartment, which also has a safety buckle and the lower compression strap just above this. Its length can be adjusted by clips on the sides and it is equipped with a buckle in the middle. A bit higher up are two sets of loops for adjusting the height of the top loops for poles/axes and a second compression strap, this time with three buckles. There is a zipper between these straps running up the right side, this is the side entrance to the top compartment.

At the top is the lid of the pack with four grommets for adding additional straps to attach equipment, and at the back is the entrance to a large pocket and just below that a pocket with the longed-for raincover. There is another smaller pocket under the lid, also with a zip. Finally, the main compartment has a separate section for the hydration pack and a pocket for the removable back brace. The cherry on the cake is a small zippered pocket for smaller pieces of gear, located on the right hip strap.

How to turn the lid of the pack and the hip belt into a hip bag

  2. Separate the lid from the rest of the pack by:

    - Unravelling the loose ends of the straps
    - Unzipping the Velcro
    - Pulling the loose ends of the straps from the clip

  3. Pull out the straps from the hip belt in the same way as (2.). The clips are located in the side pockets
  4. The hip strap is secured by the lining connected to the back system by Velcro at the top, unzip this and slide out the lining
  5. Pull the hip belt down from the duralumin bracing
  6. Unfasten the mesh under the lid to access the Velcro
  7. Use the Velcro to connect the hip belt to the lid of the pack

Logo Pinguin
