Thermal Insulation with TRF Technology

Heat-reflective TRF (Thermo Reflective Foil) layers inside the sleeping pad help reflect radiated body heat back towards the user and reduce heat loss during sleep. Combined with the insulating layer, the pad achieves an R-value of 7, providing reliable insulation in cold conditions and making it suitable for year-round use.

Which Nordic Model Should You Choose?

The Nordic range includes several options depending on the amount of sleeping space, shape, and level of thermal insulation you need. Nordic L, measuring 185 × 58 × 8 cm, is the standard rectangular version with an R-value of 7.

If you prefer a tapered shape and do not require quite as much thermal insulation, consider the Pinguin Nordic Mummy. It features a mummy shape, measures 185 × 58 × 8 cm, and has an R-value of 5.

For taller users, the extended Pinguin Nordic XL offers a length of 198 cm while maintaining a width of 58 cm. If you want both extra length and more sleeping space, the Pinguin Nordic XXL measures 198 × 68 × 8 cm. Nordic L, XL, and XXL all have an R-value of 7.

Comfortable 8 cm Thickness

The 8 cm thick air-cushioned construction effectively smooths out uneven terrain and separates the body from hard and cold surfaces. The result is greater sleeping comfort and better recovery after a demanding day outdoors.

Compact Packed Size

Despite its high level of thermal insulation and comfort, the Nordic L packs down to just 9 × 25 cm. Its compact packed size makes it easy to fit into a backpack or other outdoor gear without taking up unnecessary space.

Practical DLF Valve

The sleeping pad is equipped with a flat dual-layer DLF (Dual Layer Flat Valve) with a one-way check valve.

When the upper layer of the valve is opened, the sleeping pad can be inflated easily without air escaping back out. By gently pressing the check valve, the internal pressure can be adjusted to achieve the desired firmness. Opening the second layer fully opens the valve, allowing the pad to be quickly deflated and packed away.

Durable Materials

Both the top and bottom layers are made from 40D Nylon RipStop TPU. The RipStop structure helps prevent potential damage from spreading, while TPU lamination ensures airtightness and long-term durability. The result is an optimal combination of low weight, durability, and reliable performance in demanding conditions.
