Thanks to its minimalist construction, mummy shape, weight of just 590 g, and TRF technology, it offers an excellent balance of weight, packability, and thermal insulation. SCC Construction for Minimum Weight

The SCC (Single Chamber Construction) design uses a single air chamber to help achieve low weight and excellent packability. This simple and efficient solution provides an optimal balance of comfort, packed size, and overall weight.

3-Season Insulation with TRF Technology

Heat-reflective TRF (Thermo Reflective Foil) layers inside the sleeping pad help reflect radiated body heat back towards the user and reduce heat loss during sleep. Combined with the insulating layer, the sleeping pad reaches an R-value of 3.5 and provides reliable insulation for use from spring to autumn.

Trace R 3.5 or Trace R 1.5? If minimum weight is your main priority and you mostly travel in warm summer conditions, consider the Pinguin Trace R 1.5. It weighs only 390 g and has an R-value of 1.5. The Trace R 3.5 weighs 590 g, but its R-value of 3.5 provides significantly better insulation during colder nights and makes it more suitable for 3-season use.

Mummy Shape for Maximum Weight Savings

The sleeping pad tapers towards the foot end to just 40 cm, reducing both the amount of material used and the volume of air required for inflation. This helps maintain low weight and excellent packability while still providing sufficient space for comfortable sleep.

Comfortable 7 cm Thickness

The 7 cm thick air-cushioned construction helps smooth out minor terrain irregularities and separates the body from the ground. The result is a more comfortable night's sleep without significantly increasing weight or packed size.

Excellent Packability

When packed, the Trace R 3.5 measures just 9 × 24 cm. Its compact size makes it easy to fit into a backpack or bikepacking bags while leaving more room for the rest of your gear.

Durable Materials

Both the top and bottom layers are made from 40D Nylon RipStop TPU. The RipStop structure helps prevent potential damage from spreading, while TPU lamination creates an even and airtight layer. The result is a combination of low weight, durability, and long service life.

Practical DLF Valve

The sleeping pad is equipped with a flat dual-layer DLF (Dual Layer Flat Valve) with a one-way check valve.

When the upper layer of the valve is opened, the sleeping pad can be inflated easily without air escaping back out. By gently pressing the check valve, the internal pressure can be adjusted to achieve the desired firmness. Opening the second layer fully opens the valve, allowing the pad to be deflated and packed quickly.
