Pinguin Blaze 400

A lightweight down sleeping bag with a spacious rectangular shape, designed for camping, travel and outdoor sleeping during the warmer part of the year. Blaze 400 combines the freedom of movement of a rectangular sleeping bag with the low weight and good packability of down insulation. It is designed for users up to 190 cm tall and, with a width of 85 cm, provides plenty of space for sleepers who find mummy-shaped sleeping bags too restrictive.

400 g of down insulation

Insulation is provided by 400 g of 90/10 duck down with a fill power of 650 cuin, distributed in H-shaped chambers. Internal baffles separate the individual sections of down, helping to keep the insulation evenly distributed and reducing down migration and areas with lower insulating performance.

Cuin indicates the fill power of down, meaning the volume the down can achieve when fully lofted. A higher value generally allows a better insulation-to-weight ratio. However, fill power alone does not determine how warm a sleeping bag is. Thermal performance also depends on the amount of down, chamber construction and the overall design of the sleeping bag.

The number 400 in the model name refers to the amount of down insulation used in the sleeping bag.

Thermal comfort for the warmer part of the year

Blaze 400 has the following temperature ratings:

• Comfort: +3 °C
• Limit: -3 °C
• Extreme: -19 °C

For choosing a sleeping bag for regular use, the Comfort rating is the most useful value to consider. Limit represents a lower temperature threshold for a less cold-sensitive sleeper, while Extreme is an emergency rating and should not be regarded as a recommended temperature for normal sleeping.

Rectangular comfort at only 780 g

The rectangular shape provides more room to move than a traditional mummy sleeping bag and is ideal for anyone who prefers a more spacious sleeping environment. Despite its generous shape, Blaze 400 weighs only 780 g, making it an attractive option for trips where both comfort and low weight matter.

The sleeping bag is suitable for users up to 190 cm tall and has a width of 85 cm.

Compact packed size

Blaze 400 comes with a compression sack weighing 65 g. The Ø 14 × 28 cm dimensions refer to the sleeping bag packed in the sack before fully tightening the compression straps. Once compressed, its length can be reduced to approximately 18 cm, giving fully compressed dimensions of Ø 14 × 18 cm.
